Read our most frequently asked questions regarding our Gift Cards.

Gift Card Useability

Republic of Ireland Gift Cards are valid for use in any Lidl store located within the Republic of Ireland.

Northern Ireland Gift Cards are valid for use in any Lidl store located within Northern Ireland.

Gift cards are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed across countries.

Gift cards are available in physical format or as digital e-vouchers.

Is personal data stored on the Gift Card?

No personal data will be stored on the Gift Card.

Can my Gift Card be topped up?

No. A top up is not possible. When the value of the card has been used it should be disposed of.

How long is the Gift Card valid for?

The Gift Card is valid for 5 years or until the value of the card has been redeemed.

How much credit is on my Gift Card?

The current balance of your Gift Card will be displayed on your last receipt. You can also see your balance at the checkout in any LIDL store or online at www.lidl.ie/giftcard

What happens to the remaining balance, if I do not spend the entire value of the Gift Card?

The remaining balance will stay on your LIDL Gift Card for the validity period of the Gift Card. The balance cannot be redeemed for cash.

I have lost my Gift Card, my Gift Card has been stolen; can I have the card blocked and/or replaced?

In the event of loss, theft, or misuse of a Gift Card, Lidl is not obligated to provide a replacement.

However, if the card has not yet been used, we may be able to issue a new one.

To do so, you must provide the Gift Card serial number and PIN, which are required to block the original card before any use. If the Gift Card serial number and PIN cannot be provided, we will not be able to replace.

Can I Bulk Buy?

Lidl follows a bulk buying policy to help ensure product availability for all customers.

Alternatively, you may speak directly with the Store Management Team, who will be happy to assist in arranging a special order tailored to your required quantity and preferred purchase date.

Where can I use my Gift Card?

Republic of Ireland Gift Cards are valid for use in any Lidl store located within the Republic of Ireland.

Northern Ireland Gift Cards are valid for use in any Lidl store located within Northern Ireland.

Gift cards are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed across countries.

Is the Gift Card valid in other countries?

Unfortunately, Lidl Gift Cards cannot be used across different countries.

How do I use the Gift Card?

Gift Cards can be used as payment in all Lidl Stores in the Republic of Ireland. To pay just present your Gift Card or Community Gift Card Number at the till.

Can I use more than one gift card per transaction?

Yes. You can pay for your purchase at any time with one or more Gift Cards.

I would like to receive the Gift Card balance paid out in cash.

A cash payment for the gift card balance is not possible. The Gift Card is valid for 5 years after the initial activation. All remaining balance will stay on your LIDL Gift Card until redeemed in full.

My purchase is for a higher value than my Gift Card. Can I pay the balance by cash or card?

Yes. If the Gift Card balance is insufficient to fully pay for the purchase, you can pay the balance by cash or card.

When I wanted to use the Gift Card, there was no credit on it. I'm sure my card balance is wrong!

Can I transfer money onto the gift card once purchased?

It is not possible to transfer money on to the Gift Card. The Gift Card may only be used as payment in Lidl stores.

What discounts are available for Corporate and Charity Gift Card orders?

The followings discounts are available in both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland when ordering Corporate or Charity Gift Cards:

2% discount on orders between €/£ 1,000 & €4,999
3% discount on orders between €/£ 5,000 & €9,999
5% discount on order if over €/£ 10,000 +

When will I get my Gift Cards?

Corporate/Charity Gift Cards

Corporate/Charity Gift Cards ordered between Monday – Friday will be posted within 48 working hours.

*Seasonal changes in demand can affect delivery lead times (Christmas etc).

Gift Card Team Opening Hours:

Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.

Customer E-Vouchers

All customer E-Vouchers ordered between Monday – Friday will be sent within 12 working hours.

How do I activate my Gift Card?

Corporate/Charity Gift Cards

Corporate/Charity Gift Cards are activated by emailing giftcards@lidl.ie after you receive your gift cards by post and payment has been received. The Gift Cards are then activated and ready for immediate use.

Customer E-Vouchers

Customer E-Vouchers are activated when sent to your email. They are ready to be redeemed straight away by using the Lidl Plus scanner in store.

Are Gift Cards Refundable?

Any Lidl / Branded gift cards once purchased are non-refundable / non-transferable.
